Description:Anthropology explores the origins and history of the human species through investigating biological, cultural, and linguistic diversity in human populations. You will be able to take courses related to four major subfields of Anthropology: Archaeology, Biological, Linguistic, and Cultural Anthropology. Our faculty members have expertise in a range of societies and cultures, past and present, and a range of world areas. Through your courses you may be exposed to laboratories where you can identify and interpret artifacts and fossils, or the opportunity to conduct and present original research.

Are you interested in working closely with faculty mentors in labs and community settings on real-life challenges? Do you want to gain research experience for graduate studies, refine your writing for a professional career, or interact with peers who have similar academic interests and passions? Then the Anthropology Honors program is right for you! This major can also be taken as part of a Bachelor of Arts degree.

    This program does not allow admission directly from high school. See requirements below for more details. Preprofessional Study Time: 1 year. A minimum of ★24 units of transferable course weight are required.

    For consideration, you need a minimum Admission Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.0 with an average of 3.3 or better in your Honors subject courses; Competitive AGPA varies by field of study from 3.0-3.3.
